Five months in, and visitors to my blogoverse have been few, but I'm glad to report, steady - of which, I'm ever so grateful. At least now I know my blog is out there and discoverable, and not wallowing in the digital doldrums.
Switching names, both the blog and my own was a calculated risk... but it felt right. At least to me. Inadvertent traffic has dropped to almost nothing. Gone are the days of crawlers, bots and random accidental searches, inflated the viewing numbers into the hundreds.
And now? Four, maybe five regulars at best. I see it as cutting the chaff from the wheat - curious souls from across the vast expanse of the digital ocean.
So, with you in mind, dear reader... why not say hello? Just a quick word. A simple 'hello' would be wonderful. It doesn't need to be an essay on the Meaning of Life. Just one human waving across the void of the ethernet to another. And it's free.
At least then, I know my blog version of a 'message in a bottle' was actually landing on someone's shore, and not just floating about aimlessly under an indifferent sky, unopened.
Well? Feeling brave?
While you mull it over, enjoy some music courtesy of my all-time favourite bands - the only band I truly followed - The Police, and "Message in a Bottle", from the album, Regatta De Blanc (the first ever LP I ever bought, and still have today).
